You are not connected to real-time updates. As I don't really want to pay eu I fitted Norman Hyde rearsets years ago and ive always found them really comfortable, unfortunately they are not made anymore so you would have to find a secondhand set mine were second user items over 20 years ago. Easyest way is to get some ply wood and make some plates to mount where the foot rests mounted on the three holes in Z plates using longer screws and washers to space them out and then use pillion foot rests bolted to the ply to try out different positions.

Having got the position right yoiu can then go from there. The splines were not right as stated by Andover Norton and it was longer than standard but careful use of a needle file and engineers blue and careful bending took care of that.

I have used RGM stainless pillion footrests with main ridder rubbers on. RGM do the splined levers for use with up and over gearchanges for standard gearchange direction. Kickstart only short of footrests but you could probably use Pillion ones. I had some on my Commando with standard type bars and it made long days much more comfortable.

The only drawback was having to fold the footrest up to start the engine. OK first start of the day but a pain if I stalled in traffic But after a 4 hour ride the other day on the interstate set up, I really feel the bike could do with some rearset for those lovely Twisties as well for comfort.

I can imagine the rearset setup would be better suited for the roadster tank? As the tank is shorter and pushes the rider forward a little and can lean forward more with the rearset? Either way, it's an hour job most to change the tank etc for looks. I just want my regular ride to be more comfortable and handle better. Delivery from the Philippines was veryquick and Don Pender an American, well respected by US Norton owners is a pleasure to deal with and the products first rate.

Might be possible to get them in bare steel and have them Chromed or finished to your requirements by someone else. Has anyone fitted the Hyde Rearsets? I have acquired a pair for my Mk2a Roadster, but they don't fold far enough to clear the kickstart.

Hi Richard, I have a set of Hyde rearsets for the mk Commando, I have had them for about 30 years but no longer have them fitted to the bike. I remember in order to get the kickstarter in the place it will work it has to be almost horizontal so it is actually under the footrest. The problem is that in this position after you have taken up the backlash you only get a small degree of kick, which is enough to get it going on most occasions but might be a challenge when its cold in winter.

Sorry I havent got a photo of the lever position. Thank you Alan - After writing this I tried that and couldn't work out any other way of doing it either and nearly dislocated my knee, so figured there might be a more elegant solution.

But clearly not. I'll see about another set at some point. If, despite reading the above, anyone wants a set for a right-hand shift model, I will sell them. No, really. Thanks again. I will try to get to the Shenstone meet one evening because I have family in the area. The Norton Owners Club Limited. Registered in England No.
